Team meeting recap.
Velo Veloce/Ciao Baby/Greenstreet met for the first time (officially) as the new merged Velo Veloce Cycling Club. A good representation of club racers, club riders, sponsors, bike shop peeps and juniors swooped into Panera's Saddle Creek last Saturday.
Club President Mike Melton opened the "get to know each other" meeting with a discussion of club officers and sponsors. Mike is our new Prez, Pete is VP and Randy Secretary/Treasurer. Unoffical officers are Kirk Peck, Club Physical Therapist, Troy Perry; Club Social Secretary; and Harvey Kunz, Club Brevet Coordinator.
Four of our projected seven junior racers were in attendance. Simone, aka The Marian Missile; Maddie (Mad Dawg) Elliston, Danny (the Beast) Elliston and Jack "Junior Jay" Perry. Couple this crew with Connor, Nick and Zach and we will field a junior team second to none.
Ben Swan and Sarah Johnson of Greenstreet introduced themselves. They are BIG on bike advocacy in the city of Omaha and are enthusiastic about the merger. We will lead club rides as soon as weather permits on Tuesday evenings or Sunday late mornings from our Greenstreet bike shop on Mike Fahey Blvd., near the new baseball stadium downtown.
The sponsors were identifed by Mike as The Lerner Company, Vrana Construction and the Kaneko Organization, whom make it possible for Velo Veloce to have a great season. We also have several secondary sponsors; Tectonic Management Group, Camp Wayfarer, Lotus House of Yoga and Green Street Cycles. Please endorse these sponsors whenever possible. The Lerner Company is our "Primary" sponsor so our team is VELO VELOCE by: The Lerner Company.
The new kit design will be done soon and Randy will open a virtual store at Pactimo. Stay tuned for an email describing how to do this.
So, it promises to be an exciting year. We want to thank (THANKS!!!) Blaine Westerveldt of Xtreme Wheels in Council Bluffs for being our bike shop affiliate for the last several years.
Make sure you have permission (by emailing) from Randy or Pete and use this blog frequently. We'll also stay in touch on Facebook and email.

Good luck guys! Tell me you're keeping the tiger stripes?
Jon,
Alas! The stripes take a hiatus in favor of a more traditional design. It's the end of an era.
